Celebrating Eid al-Adha, TNI Indobatt Task Force Donates 100 Sacrificial Animals to South Lebanon Community
BICARA TNI - In the spirit of Eid al-Adha 1446 H, the Indonesian Battalion Task Force (Satgas Indobatt) TNI, part of the UNIFIL peacekeeping mission, demonstrated its concern for the community in the mission area of South Lebanon by donating 100 goats to the community in 13 conflict-affected villages in the Area of Responsibility (AoR) of Indobatt on Friday (6/6/2025).
According to the Commander of the Indobatt Task Force, Colonel Raja Gunung Nasution, the distribution of sacrificial animals was carried out in several points in the AoR Indobatt, Sector South UNIFIL, with priority given to civilians in South Lebanon. He further explained that the distribution of sacrificial animals in the AoR Indobatt was carried out in 13 villages in South Lebanon, based on the foster villages of the Indobatt companies, evenly distributed.
"The sacrificial goats were channeled to the less fortunate, orphans, social institutions, and local religious organizations, all of whom were affected by the conflict between IDF and Hezbollah," he concluded.
Some community leaders, including the Major of Adchit Al Qusair village, expressed that the sacrificial animals from the Garuda Task Force have always been a highly anticipated moment every year. However, this year is particularly different, given the current condition of the community after the conflict. The Garuda Task Force still shows its care by providing sacrificial animals in a considerable amount, which has never been done before.
The Commander of the Indobatt Task Force, Colonel Raja Gunung Nasution, symbolically handed over the sacrificial animals to village officials to be slaughtered and distributed to the entire community in South Lebanon.
"We want to show that the presence of the Garuda Task Force in Lebanon not only brings a peacekeeping mission but also benefits the community in the AoR post-conflict," said the Task Force Commander. (*/TNI Public Affairs Office)
