HWPL and IPYG Blood Donation Drive Collects 117 Blood Bags Across Jakarta and Medan
BICARA HWPL - In commemoration of the Declaration of World Peace observed annually on May 25, Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) and the International Peace Youth Group (IPYG) organized a blood donation campaign titled “Peace in Our Blood” in Medan and Jakarta on June 3–4, 2026.
The initiative reflects HWPL and IPYG’s
efforts to connect peacebuilding with humanitarian
action that directly benefits local communities. Beyond helping address blood
supply needs, the campaign aimed to promote social responsibility, a spirit of
sharing, and unity as foundations for building a culture of peace.
The Medan event was held on June 3 at the IGN Washington Purba Hall of Sari
Mutiara Indonesia University (USM) in partnership with the Indonesian Red Cross
(PMI) and Sari Mutiara Indonesia University. A total of 130 participants took
part, resulting in the collection of 68 blood bags.
The event was attended by Parlindungan Purba, Founder of Sari Mutiara
Indonesia University and a member of
HWPL’s International Law Committee, who has been a longstanding and dedicated
partner in advancing HWPL’s peace initiatives in Indonesia.and Prof. Dr. Dra.
Ivan Elisabeth Purba, S.H., M.Kes., Rector of the university.
Meanwhile, the Jakarta event took place on June 4 at the Dr. H. Abdul Rajak
Auditorium, 5th Floor, Mohammad Husni Thamrin University. The program was
organized in collaboration with Mohammad Husni Thamrin University, T-Preneur,
PMI, and the Blood Transfusion Unit of Dharmais Cancer Hospital Jakarta. The
event attracted 88 participants and collected 49 blood bags.
Among the distinguished guests were Dr. Ningky Sasanti Munir, MBA., MA,
Rector of Mohammad Husni Thamrin University; Dr. Ajeng Tias Endarti, SKM.,
M.Comm. Health; and Cipto D. Kumolo, S.Pd., MARS, representing the university.
Combined, the two events engaged
218 participants and generated 117 blood bags that will contribute to meeting
community healthcare needs. In addition to blood donation activities,
participants joined peace-awareness sessions and engaged in
discussions on how small acts of service, such as volunteering and community
support, can contribute to stronger and more caring communities. Throughout
both events, students, university staff, community members, and volunteers
gathered at donation sites to contribute blood and support awareness
activities. The atmosphere reflected a shared sense of responsibility and
solidarity, with many participants expressing appreciation for the opportunity
to help save lives while supporting a broader message of peace and social contribution.
Parlindungan Purba, Founder of Sari Mutiara Indonesia University, expressed
appreciation for the collaboration and voiced hope that the partnership with
HWPL and IPYG would continue through future peace initiatives in Medan.
Evi, an IPYG representative in Medan, expressed gratitude for the
enthusiastic participation of students, lecturers, and community members.
According to her, the strong participation from students, lecturers, and
community members demonstrated how collective action can make a meaningful
contribution to both public health and social solidarity.
Tiurma, Chairperson of IPYG Indonesia, emphasized the important role of
youth in shaping a better future.
“The humanitarian actions carried out in Medan and Jakarta demonstrate that
young people do not only speak about change—they take action. We thank every
participant who rolled up their sleeves and chose to give for others. Let us
continue to unite our hearts for Indonesia, because today’s youth reflect the
Indonesia of tomorrow,” she said.
As an international peace organization, HWPL advances sustainable peace through legal frameworks, interfaith
dialogue, peace education, and humanitarian initiatives. Through the
Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW), religious harmony efforts,
and grassroots peace activities, HWPL works with governments, civil society,
educators, religious leaders, women, and youth to build a culture of peace
worldwide.
Organizers expressed hope that the campaign would lead
to continued cooperation with universities, youth organizations, and community
groups, expanding opportunities for young people to contribute to society
through volunteerism and humanitarian service.
